Double Pick 6 carryover of $139K on Thursday at Belmont at the Big A
Thursday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a double Pick 6 carryover of $139,949 after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive day during Sunday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $120.35 to bettors who selected 4-of-6 winners correctly.
Sunday's Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 4 with a win from Twirling Lad [No. 1, $9.20] in a 1 1/16-mile turf maiden for New York-breds with Edgard Zayas aboard for trainer Horacio De Paz. Jockey Jose Lezcano next navigated 34-1 longshot Bandmaster [No. 7, $71.44] to upset a 5 1/2-furlong maiden for trainer Oscar Barrera, III, in Race 5.
The next race saw Chris Elliott pilot Higher Force [No. 6, $10.46] to victory in a one-turn mile starter allowance for trainer Rudy Rodriguez, in Race 6. In Race 7, Ricardo Santana, Jr. held off challengers to each side aboard state-bred Moonlight Gal [No. 5, $6.44*] in a seven-furlong claimer for trainer Chris Englehart.
In Race 8, a one-mile turf optional claimer for New York-breds, Sail With the Wind [No. 4, $14.68] was victorious with jockey Flavien Prat in the irons for conditioner Jeremiah Englehart.
With the carryover guaranteed ahead of the Race 9 finale, a six-furlong state-bred turf maiden, the Charlton Baker-trained Moonlight Ready [No. 8, $77.24] capped the sequence at odds of 37-1 with Dalila Rivera up.
Thursday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 3 at approximately 2:12 p.m. Eastern. First post for the eight-race card is 1:10 p.m.
