Bel 26 Pick 6Carryover Press Release Saturday

Saturday’s card at Belmont Park will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $21,511, featuring an all-graded stakes sequence, after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s nine-race program.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $7,170.35 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

Saturday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 6, the Grade 3, $200,000 Matron, at approximately 2:50 p.m. Eastern. First post is 12:05 p.m. for the 11-race card headlined by the Grade 1, $500,000 Champagne [Race 8], a “Win and You’re In” for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile in October at Keeneland that is one of six graded events on the stacked program.

Also featured are three additional “Win and You’re In” events in the Grade 2, $250,000 Miss Grillo [Juvenile Fillies Turf] in Race 7, the Grade 2, $250,000 Pilgrim [Juvenile Turf] in Race 11 and the Grade 3, $200,000 Futurity [Juvenile Turf Sprint] in Race 10 to go along with the Grade 1, $500,000 Frizette [Race 9], a Breeders’ Cup “Dirt Dozen” race that offers the top-three with entry credits to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Friday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 4 with Smoted [No. 4, $9.34] capturing a six-furlong maiden claimer under jockey Samuel Marin for dual Eclipse Award-winning trainer Brad Cox. In Race 5, a seven-furlong claimer on the Widener turf, Junior Alvarado navigated Diliello [No. 10, $27.14] to victory for conditioner Tom Morley.

Next, Dylan Davis guided the Bruce Brown-trained Inexorable [No. 8, $20.96] to victory in a one-mile claimer, in Race 6. In Race 7, a six-furlong maiden special weight, jockey Paco Lopez and trainer Michael Stidham enjoyed a victory with Zimmer [No. 4, $9.96].

In Race 8, the Listed $175,000 Artie Schiller, jockey Antonio Fresu was victorious aboard the Michael Trombetta-conditioned Souper Forces [No. 7, $14.42], besting Intellect in a tight finish for the win.

With only Peppermint Twist covered in the Race 9 finale, a 6 1/2-furlong inner turf allowance, Amangani [No. 12, $7.34*] proved best with Ricardo Santana, Jr. up for trainer Philip Antonacci to trigger the carryover.
