Pick 6 carryover of $143K on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course
Saturday’s card at Saratoga Race Course will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $143,193 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s 10-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $2,272.90 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Friday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 5 with Urgency [No. 4, $10.46] prevailing in a one-mile maiden claimer, run off the turf, under Jose Ortiz for trainer Rick Dutrow, Jr.
Junior Alvarado piloted the Riley Mott-conditioned Fullcup [No. 8, $26.20] to victory in a six-furlong maiden special weight featuring New York-breds, in Race 6. The next race saw Ortiz visit the winner’s circle for the second time on the card aboard Metatron’s Muse [No. 1, $15.34] in a nine-furlong starter optional claimer for trainer Mertkan Kantarmaci, in Race 7.
In Race 8, a six-furlong state-bred allowance, rider Nazario Alvarado navigated Queens Cat [No. 7, $12.88] to victory for trainer Linda Dixon. In Race 9, the Grade 2, $250,000 Amsterdam, Local Knowledge [No. 2, $10.34] aced his stakes debut for Hall of Fame connections in trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velazquez.
With the carryover already guaranteed heading into the Race 10 finale, a 5 1/2-furlong off-the-turf claimer, the Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen-trained From Scratch [No. 9, $5.54*] proved best with Ortiz in the saddle for his third win on the card.
Saturday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 7 at approximately 3:54 p.m. Eastern during a 12-race program that features the Grade 2, $250,000 Saratoga Special [Race 6], the Grade 3, $225,000 Lake George presented by Surfside [Race 9] and the Grade 2, $500,000 Jim Dandy presented by Mohegan Sun [Race 10].
