Pick 6 carryover of $32K into Sunday’s card at Aqueduct

Sunday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $32,631 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s nine-race program.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $352.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

Saturday’s sequence began in Race 4 with the Jesus Romero-trained R Funny Bizness [No. 3, $8.40] taking a 6 1/2-furlong claiming tilt with Luis Rivera, Jr. in the irons. The Jose Lezcano-piloted Lookin to Rock [No. 3, $11.40] followed with a state-bred maiden claiming score in Race 5 for trainer Amira Chichakly.

The second of the day’s three stakes featured in Race 6 as the Butch Reid, Jr.-trained Maximus Meridius [No. 1, $14.80] scored under Mychel Sanchez in the Listed $175,000 Toboggan. That race was followed by a 20-10-6-4-2 Kentucky Derby qualifier in Race 7 with the Manny Franco-piloted Captain Cook [No. 6, $4.90*] taking the Listed $250,000 Withers for trainer Rick Dutrow, Jr.

Race 8 saw Katie Davis engineer a winning trip aboard the David Duggan-trained New York-bred Sunday Girl [No. 2, $5.10*] to capture an open-company six-furlong optional claimer.

With just four horses covered in the Race 9 finale, Strong Light [No. 5, $45.40] captured the nine-furlong claiming route for trainer Roshan Samsundar, providing jockey Favinho Villa Pino his first North American riding victory.  

Sunday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 3 at approximately 2:08 p.m. Eastern. First post for the eight-race card is 1:10 p.m.
